Today some people received two copies of 'The Verse of the Day' e-mail devotion. I want to apologize.
The glitch happened when our e-mail queue became out of sync with the database. The server responsible for marking e-mails as "being sent" was slow responding. This allowed those affected to receive a duplicate copy.
To address this in the short term I have slowed down the frequency our e-mail queue checks for new e-mails to be sent.
When I programmed the e-mail queue I didn't consider a slowly responding server. I will do the research needed to find a permanent solution.
I am very sorry for those who were affected by this.
